Beard Elementary Celebrates Read Across America Week

Beard Elementary Celebrates Read Across America Week

Beard Elementary students enjoyed a week filled with reading activities and special guests as they celebrated Read Across America Week. From guest readers to themed activities, the event highlighted the importance of literacy in a fun and engaging way.

Miss Arkansas Teen Bella Crowe and 5NEWS anchor Tiffany Lee kicked off the celebrations by reading to students, making the morning extra special. Throughout the week, students participated in Dr. Seuss-themed stations in PE and listened to stories from a variety of guest readers, including SRO Joey Boyd, Dr. Hannah Crosswhite, Youth Services Librarian Tiffany DeVries, and representatives from ABB, Bridget Jones and Melissa Williams. FSPS Technology Integration Specialist Adam Elliot and even some of Beard’s own 5th-grade students also took turns reading aloud.

Mrs. Anders and Mrs. Wilson shared stories with 4th and 5th graders, adding to the excitement. Beard Elementary is grateful to all the readers who helped foster a love for books among students.

Read Across America Week at Beard Elementary was a success, bringing together students, educators, and community members to celebrate literacy and the joy of reading.
